This is my first RL Polo fragrance since the early 80s when I got the original Polo green for Christmas. I love the smell of this one so much that I just had to have it in my collection. Especially at the great deal I got for this gift set! They took a classic fragrance and made it modern. Like I said I use to wear the original back in the early to mid 80s and loved it! This still has the original DNA in it but very faint. It is still a green scent just like the original just more fresher. In the opening you get that burst of basil and mint with a touch of grapefruit. As it starts to dry down the violet leaf kicks in with the clary sage and thyme being in the background. In the complete dry down that ambroxan becomes more noticeable but not very strong. I do get a hint of the patchouli and vetiver when it becomes closer to my skin. Performance is decent as I got 7 to 8 hours on my skin with an hour of projection. 👌🏼
